Got fruit flies?

I was at my friends house last night and the fruit flies were out in full force moving in on my glass of cabernet when my brilliant friend decided an intervention was in order. She broke out some apple cider vinegar, poured about a quarter of a cup in a glass and added dash of dish soap. In a matter of seconds the little buggers were swarming the vinegar and letting me enjoy my wine in peace.

After watching the movie “The Help”, we came back in the kitchen to find 17 fruit flies!

Soccer ball player

Let me introduce you to our little All Star Alfie. He is almost a year and a half old, and completely crazy about his soccer balls. He has three, two are inside balls and one he keeps outside. They are a squeak toy that he picked out at Pet’s Mart and fit in his mouth perfectly for all his squeaking, ball playing pleasure.

Plaid Ahoy

I’m loving my new Dexter brand shoes I got a Payless Shoe store. These cute flats are so soft and really comfortable. Affordable too, $19.99 on sale.

I even like the name Plaid Ahoy. I could totally rock these on my pretend yacht.

Lunch in Centralia

While I didn’t find anything I couldn’t live without at the Centralia flea market, I did have a great day looking around the town. It is quite charming this time of year with the hanging baskets decorating the downtown area.

After checking out the flea market and window shopping I was getting a little hungry, so I decided to get some lunch. Driving through the town it was quite apparent that all the restaurants were super busy with all the activity of the Seattle to Portland bike riders in town.

I ended up going to Bill and Bea’s for lunch which is well known for its burgers and shakes. I haven’t had one of their burgers in ages so I thought I’d treat my self. I ended up waiting for 20 minutes after I’d already waited for 10 minutes to order, but I figured it was worth it. The cheeseburger deluxe basket for $7.25 included french fries and soda, cost more than I’d planned to spend but what the hell right? Well I took it to-go for an outdoor picnic at my parents place only a few miles down the road.

I’m sorry to say I was disappointed with my lunch, there was so much goop on the bun that it came out the sides with every bite. Totally messy with a thin patty, and the fries weren’t even good. The kind that I don’t even like with an extra fried coating. Anyways, I was Starving by the time I was eating so I ate it all except a couple bites of goopy bun and a few french fries that I shared with the dogs and birds.

Centralia flea market/antique show

It’s a beautiful day here in Washington state. It’s sunny and supposed to get in the mid 70′s. Perfect for antiquing! So I’m heading to Centralia about a half hours drive from here, where I’m hoping to find something I can’t live without…
